Function and Purpose

A Blind Flange is a solid flange without a center opening, used to close off the end of pipes, valves, or pressure vessels. It serves as a terminal closure component, playing a critical role during maintenance, inspection, or system expansion.

Main Applications

1. Pipe Closure: Seal pipe ends to prevent medium leakage
2. System Isolation: Isolate specific pipe sections during maintenance
3. Pressure Testing: Closure during pipeline pressure tests
4. Future Connection: Reserve connection points for pipeline expansion

Structural Features

• Solid construction with no center hole
• Thicker than other flanges of same specification
• Bolt connection to mating flange
• Available in RF, FF, or RTJ sealing faces

Types

• Standard Blind: Regular thickness
• Heavy Duty Blind: For higher pressure
• Spectacle Blind: One side blind, one side ring for frequent switching
• Spade Blind: Inserted between mating flanges
